In English

Stripclub Streetfood started in 2019 in Birmingham and has since made a name for themselves at various food festivals around England, where they have achieved several podium finishes over the years. Their most famous burger is the OG Biscoff, which we had the pleasure of eating at Burger Fest UK. It contained two smashed patties, cheese, maple syrup-smoked bacon, Biscoff cream and Biscoff biscuits, and cost 10 GBP (13.5 USD).

The burger looked both chaotic and messy, yet it was impressively well-composed with a balanced amount of toppings. The bun was soft but still sturdy, which was definitely an advantage for this type of burger. The patties were properly smashed with a fine crust that had just the right level of crispness while still retaining its juiciness. But the obvious star of this crazy creation was, of course, the Biscoff, which came in three different varieties – cream, crumbs and a whole biscuit on top. It gave the whole burger a distinct sweetness, but also a well-thought-out play on textures that showed an unexpectedly strong sense of finesse. Together with the maple syrup-smoked bacon, we got a fine symbiosis of saltiness, sweetness and a hint of smokiness that we really appreciated. However, the burger did get a bit too slimy towards the end, and we would have liked to see the sweetness toned down a bit.

The OG Biscoff is definitely not for everyone, but if you like to try new things and appreciate sweet flavours in your food, we can definitely recommend it. Because even though the burger sounds completely crazy on paper, it shows a willingness to experiment that really surprised us – and being pleasantly surprised is always a good thing. We hope to get to try some of their other creations in the future as well, because everything they do looks pretty exciting.

🍔 Review № 1381

Black Bear Burger is one of the veterans of the modern burger wave in England, and we have tried their burgers several times since our first review in 2017. Over the years, Black Bear Burger has received more and more attention and hype, both domestically and internationally, and today they are one of the most well-known burger restaurants in all of England. They have locations at nearly 10 places around London, and we visited their restaurant inside the Market Halls Victoria food hall and ordered their Double Miso Bacon Burger – the same burger that won them the National Burger of the Year 2025 award. The burger contained double patties, double cheese, smoked bacon and their miso butter mayo, and it cost 15.8 GBP (21 USD).

The burger looked exactly as we remembered it, with pre-formed patties and a pale bun covered in a generous layer of sesame seeds. The bun was soft and fluffy, but just like on our previous visits, we felt that the crust-like amount of sesame seeds took over both in terms of flavour and texture. The meat was of high quality as always and had a nice and potent dry-aged character that they are known for. The meat could have been juicier though, as it felt a bit too compact this time. The bacon was super tasty and crispy, just the way we like it, and the onion also contributed a nice texture. Their miso butter mayo was very flavourful with its buttery, salty, and umami-rich taste, but together with the bacon and the beef, the overall flavour profile was a bit too salty. We would have liked to see some kind of freshness to break up the saltiness for a more complete experience.

We are very happy that a veteran like Black Bear Burger continues to deliver high-quality burgers year after year, and they are still a safe bet when you are craving a really good burger in London.
