In English

Filthy Fried Food are located just south of the main square Rynek Główny in central Krakow, and here they mainly focus on burgers with Korean fried chicken. Lately, they have also started serving smash burgers, so when we visited the lively and eclectic restaurant, we ordered two burgers. We chose a Classic Smash with double beef patties, American cheese, onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard for 36 PLN (9.5 USD), and their seasonal special Korean BBQ Smash with double beef patties covered in Korean BBQ sauce, cheddar, cucumber kimchi, radish, spring onions, coriander, mint and ssamjang mayo for 37 PLN (10 USD). We also ordered a large portion of french fries for 19 PLN (5 USD) and a small portion of the promotional Bulgogi Fries with bulgogi-seasoned beef, cheese sauce, sesame seeds and spring onions for 21 PLN (5.5 USD).

The double 100-gram beef patties were smashed super hard, with a really crispy skirt that stuck out over the bun in true ‘lacey edges’ style. It was a bit brittle at first, but it got significantly better when we got to the entire burger. The bun was very soft and pliable, and tasted very nice. Our Classic Cheese offered classic flavours, with a well-thought-out balance between the ingredients. But it was their Korean BBQ Smash that impressed us the most. It was very generous with plenty of ssamjang mayo, which complemented the acidity of the pickled radish and kimchi. This was a very flavourful burger that we hope will remain on their menu in the future, even though the mint and coriander have a flavour profile that is more Vietnamese than Korean. Their Bulgogi Fries tasted great, but were a bit pricy and would have been even better with a little more sauce.

Filthy Fried Food serve the best burger we have eaten in Krakow, and are a great choice if you want well-cooked burgers with an asian twist.

🍔 Review № 1381

Black Bear Burger is one of the veterans of the modern burger wave in England, and we have tried their burgers several times since our first review in 2017. Over the years, Black Bear Burger has received more and more attention and hype, both domestically and internationally, and today they are one of the most well-known burger restaurants in all of England. They have locations at nearly 10 places around London, and we visited their restaurant inside the Market Halls Victoria food hall and ordered their Double Miso Bacon Burger – the same burger that won them the National Burger of the Year 2025 award. The burger contained double patties, double cheese, smoked bacon and their miso butter mayo, and it cost 15.8 GBP (21 USD).

The burger looked exactly as we remembered it, with pre-formed patties and a pale bun covered in a generous layer of sesame seeds. The bun was soft and fluffy, but just like on our previous visits, we felt that the crust-like amount of sesame seeds took over both in terms of flavour and texture. The meat was of high quality as always and had a nice and potent dry-aged character that they are known for. The meat could have been juicier though, as it felt a bit too compact this time. The bacon was super tasty and crispy, just the way we like it, and the onion also contributed a nice texture. Their miso butter mayo was very flavourful with its buttery, salty, and umami-rich taste, but together with the bacon and the beef, the overall flavour profile was a bit too salty. We would have liked to see some kind of freshness to break up the saltiness for a more complete experience.

We are very happy that a veteran like Black Bear Burger continues to deliver high-quality burgers year after year, and they are still a safe bet when you are craving a really good burger in London.
