Stejk Street Food have served street food with a northern touch in Kiruna since 2016. We visited their small truck on a windy autumn day and were happy to find that we could eat our food in their large lavvu hut – furnished with benches and an open fire that made eating our meal really cosy. Their menu included baguettes with reindeer and moose meat as well as burgers, where the main choice was with or without bacon. We tried a Cheese & Bacon with a 150-grams beef patty, cheddar, bacon, lettuce and sauce for 165 SEK (15.5 USD), an Arctic Cheese Steak baguette with reindeer and moose meat, melted cheese and barbecue sauce for 155 SEK (14.5 USD) plus french fries and a dipping sauce for 55 SEK (4.5 USD).

Our burger looked like a well-made homemade burger, casual in its appearance but still appealing. The bun was toasted on both the outside and inside, and the crown had broken a bit. The rather sweet flavour and the semolina residue under the heel reinforced the home feeling. The patty had a fairly nice crust and a fluffy texture, but it could also have been juicier. It was also seasoned with some kind of spice mix, probably the same grill seasoning that our fries had received a dose of. The bacon was thin and crispy and added both saltiness and smokiness. The fried onions offered a light sweetness and texture, and the dressing enhanced that sweetness. In comparison, their Arctic Cheese Steak was much more enjoyable, with distinct and rustic flavours. Our fries were thick, with a crispy surface and a creamy interior, and the grill seasoning worked well here.

Eating at Stejk was quite a touristy experience, but the atmosphere was very easy to like. There are better burgers to be had in Kiruna, but we’ll happily return to Stejk to eat more of the Arctic meat and hang out in the lavvu.

🍔 Review № 1350

🇦🇪 @she_burger ★★★★☆

She Burger is a restaurant chain with several locations in Dubai and around the Middle East, and they participated in the Dubai Burger Championship 2026. The burger they served at the festival was the same name as the restaurant, She Burger, and it consisted of two smashed beef patties, roasted onions, veal bacon jam with a lot of coffee, and their signature sauce for 60 AED (16.5 USD).

We immediately felt that the burger had a very international appearance when we saw it, and it offered a well-shaped brioche bun, plenty of toppings, double meat patties. The bun was soft and had a good size, but the heel would have been able to handle the beef juices better if they’d let the patties rest before assembly. The Black Angus meat had a strong meat flavour with a robust seasoning, but we felt that the crust should have been more pronounced and that the meat could have been even juicier. The fried onion was texturally brilliant, and it added both flavour and a lovely crunch that the burger really needed. The veal bacon jam was incredibly good and had a much more mature taste than we are normally used to. It was very coffee heavy, which we really appreciated. On the other hand, the signature sauce was completely anonymous and didn’t make any real impression.

She Burger do a lot right with this burger, but they need to refine the details and the meat to really make it a winner. But that being said, they offer one of the better burgers in Dubai.
