In English

Bonnatösens Burgare have said themselves that ‘it all started as a bit of fun’, but it has now grown into something much bigger, with lots of hungry and expectant visitors. The burgers were smashed in their yellow food truck outside the barn outside Nora, overlooking the scenic Fåsjön lake, and had a real summer gem vibe. During our visit, they served Bonnatösens Reubenburgare, with a 145-gram beef patty, cheddar, onions, sauerkraut, pickled cucumber, Russian dressing and spicy ketchup for 139 SEK (14.5 USD) and a burger with double beef patties for 175 SEK (18 USD) . We ordered a large portion of French fries with dip for 69 SEK (7 USD) and Dirty Fries with onion, herbs and mayo SEK 85 (9 USD).

Our generous burgers looked really inviting, with a fresh and soft bun that felt good in our hands. The patties were extremely juicy, with a generous crust and a thick, dark layer of black pepper. Beneath the crust the beef had an exemplary soft and loose texture, making it the obvious star of the show. This was particularly evident in the double burger, where the beef flavour was maxed out. It was obvious that the burgers were composed with finesse, where the acidity, saltiness and a slight heat from the ingredients were combined nicely. However, the heel of the bun had a hard time handling all the juices and could have been toasted. And the Russian dressing wasn’t super exciting, but this was a minor detail in an otherwise very strong overall experience. The French fries were wonderfully crispy and nice, with a slight churros feel to them, and we also liked their Dirty Fries.

Bonnatösens Burgare live up to the hype, and we were really impressed by their high quality and clear craftsmanship. This is one of the best burgers we have eaten in Sweden, and we hope they’ll extend their opening dates so that their burgers can be enjoyed outside the summer months. Until then we wholeheartedly recommend that you visit them during their short season.

🍔 Review № 1381

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 @black_bear_burger ★★★★☆

Black Bear Burger is one of the veterans of the modern burger wave in England, and we have tried their burgers several times since our first review in 2017. Over the years, Black Bear Burger has received more and more attention and hype, both domestically and internationally, and today they are one of the most well-known burger restaurants in all of England. They have locations at nearly 10 places around London, and we visited their restaurant inside the Market Halls Victoria food hall and ordered their Double Miso Bacon Burger – the same burger that won them the National Burger of the Year 2025 award. The burger contained double patties, double cheese, smoked bacon and their miso butter mayo, and it cost 15.8 GBP (21 USD).

The burger looked exactly as we remembered it, with pre-formed patties and a pale bun covered in a generous layer of sesame seeds. The bun was soft and fluffy, but just like on our previous visits, we felt that the crust-like amount of sesame seeds took over both in terms of flavour and texture. The meat was of high quality as always and had a nice and potent dry-aged character that they are known for. The meat could have been juicier though, as it felt a bit too compact this time. The bacon was super tasty and crispy, just the way we like it, and the onion also contributed a nice texture. Their miso butter mayo was very flavourful with its buttery, salty, and umami-rich taste, but together with the bacon and the beef, the overall flavour profile was a bit too salty. We would have liked to see some kind of freshness to break up the saltiness for a more complete experience.

We are very happy that a veteran like Black Bear Burger continues to deliver high-quality burgers year after year, and they are still a safe bet when you are craving a really good burger in London.
