🇦🇪 @11woodfire ★★★★☆
11 Woodfire is a one-Michelin-star restaurant in Dubai that has recently gained a lot of attention for its burgers. The menu is filled with several exclusive meat and fish dishes cooked over an open fire, but we of course ordered two of their Wagyu Burgers with double beef patties, gouda cheese, mushroom duxelles and sriracha mayo for 95 AED (26 USD). On one of the burgers we also added their veal bacon jam for an extra 30 AED (8 USD), and we also ordered a portion of Broken Potatoes with buttermilk dressing and chimichurri for 65 AED (17.5 USD).
The burgers were served halved on a nice porcelain plate and looked like they had been carefully composed. The bun was fluffy and managed to hold everything together perfectly despite being cut in half. The two wagyu beef patties had a nice but rather thin crust and were very juicy with a tender texture, thanks to the high fat content. We would have liked the meat to stand out more, as the mushroom duxelles was a bit overpowering with its buttery umami notes. Not even the sriracha mayo managed to break through, and the flavor profile became a bit monotonous towards the end. The burger with veal bacon jam was much more interesting and added sweetness and saltiness, making it much more interesting. However, we would have preferred a bit more texture in both burgers, as they were quite light and soft. Their Broken Potatoes, on the other hand, was a hit, with its buttery saltiness and loads of fresh herbs.
11 Woodfire offer a nice and atmospheric burger experience with great service. All the food served was of very high quality, and if you are in the mood for a premium burger at this exclusive Michelin restaurant, you won’t be disappointed.

🇦🇺 @cbco_port ★★☆☆☆
CBCo Brewing is a brewery that won the 2025 National Burger Awards for Australia’s Best Burger, voted on by the likes of Easey’s founder. However, we had initially missed the fact that they won with a shrimp burger, so we ordered one of those and one of their two regular beef burgers on the menu. The beef burger was a double Cheeseburger with two 120-gram beef patties, cheese, chopped onions, pickles and burger sauce, and we also ordered a Filet-O-Shrimp with breaded and fried shredded shrimp, lettuce, onion and ranch dressing. Both burgers cost 28 AUD (19 USD) each, and we also got a serving of fries for 13 AUD (9 USD).
Our cheeseburger looked quite nice with its soft potato bun, but despite the meat being tender, it had a very uneven crust. The patties tasted nice, but one person in the group got a slightly burnt burger, which further confirmed the uneven temperature of the grill. The bun was also unevenly toasted, and although the pickles were really good with a lot of dill flavour, all four slices were placed in the same spot. In other words, the unevenness was piling up. We did appreciate the creaminess of the sauce, but overall, we would have liked more salt to increase the overall flavours. The shrimp burger, on the other hand, was the complete opposite, with fresh, crispy and salty flavours that really stood out. We really understood why it won. The fries were also good, with a rich Cajun seasoning and a hot sauce that was a really good combination.
CBCo Brewing may have had a bad day when it came to the regular burgers, but this was at least the best shrimp burger we’ve ever had, so we’ll probably stick to that next time.

🇯🇵 @teddybrown_tokyo ★★★★☆
Teddy Brown is a burger restaurant in the upscale Hiroo district in central Tokyo. They opened their doors in 2025 and have since become known for serving artisanal burgers with a Japanese twist. The interior is sleek and almost looks more like a trendy café than a burger restaurant, and the menu is large with several interesting burgers. We ordered their Teddy Burger with a 160-gram Kuroge Wagyu beef patty, cheese, grated Grana Padano, bacon jam, scrambled egg, tomato, and their Aurora sauce for 1900 JPY (12 USD). With this we got an order of triple-cooked fries, homemade ketchup and pickled cabbage.
Our burger was substantial, and we were immediately struck by the proportions, with a large tomato slice and a lot of scrambled egg and grated Grana Padano on top. The burger was a bit difficult to eat with our hands because of the scrambled egg, which made it a bit unstable. But the bun was incredibly soft and firm enough to hold everything together in a satisfying way. The meat was incredibly good and juicy, with a pink interior and a rich beef flavour that really made us happy. The bacon jam was also very nice and played well with the sweet Aurora sauce. The giant tomato was also both fresh and tasty. However, we didn’t like the cold scrambled egg, which we didn’t feel fit the overall flavour profile. But when we removed it and ate it separately, the burger became much better. The fries, which were triple-fried in rice oil, were incredibly crispy with an excellent and creamy potato flavour.
This is a restaurant that has emerged from the new wave of Japanese burger restaurants that we have seen around the country, with a strong identity and innovative ideas. There is no doubt that Teddy Brown serves really good burgers, although they bordered on being a bit too out there.
