Hemliga burgaren lockar mest

Frank’s Grill öppnade 2024 i Buenos Aires lugna och trevliga Colegiales-distrikt, och restaurangen är inredd som en kitchig 50-talsdiner med svartvitrutiga golv och massor av pastellfärger och neonskyltar. Vi beställde två burgare; en Doble Cheeseburger med två 120-gramsköttpuckar, cheddar, lök och burgardressing för 14600 ARS (140 kronor) samt deras hemliga burgare Burguesa Secreta en tjockare 250-gramsköttpuck samt cheddar, sallad, karamelliserad lök, pickles och burgardressing för 16500 ARS (160 kronor).

Våra burgare kom invirade i aluminiumfolie, och var ganska snygga när de vecklades ut. Köttet hade grillats över en vedeld, och hade en distinkt grillad smak som påminde en hel del om Tommi’s Burger Joint och till viss del även Burger King. Det var smakrikt och trevligt kryddat, men saknade i princip helt stekyta. Hela cheeseburgaren var faktiskt väldigt mjuk, och det var bara våra extrapickles som vi köpte till för 600 ARS (5 kronor) som bidrog med lite extra krispighet – och lite trevlig syra. Den hemliga burgaren var markant bättre, och den tjockare köttpucken bjöd på mycket smak samtidigt som alla fräscha grönsaker tillförde mer krispighet. Deras sötpotatispommesfrites och waffle fries (för 7000 ARS (65 kronor) styck) bjöd på olika upplevelser. Waffle friesen var bleka och inte ens nära att vara trippelfriterade som det stod på menyn, medan sötpotatispommesfritesen var täckta med både salt och socker, vilket var oväntat men ganska gott.

Frank’s Grill bjöd på goda burgare, även om vi gärna hade sett ett lite bättre helhetstänk vad gäller texturerna. Men vi uppskattade ändå den grillade smaken, och deras hemliga tjockpucksburgare var ett välkommet inslag under vår senaste resa till Argentina.

Frank’s Grill opened in 2024 in Buenos Aires’ quiet and pleasant Colegiales district, and the restaurant is decorated like a kitschy 50s diner with black and white checkered floors and lots of pastel colours and neon signs. We ordered two burgers; a Doble Cheeseburger with two 120-gram beef patties, cheddar, onions and burger sauce for 14600 ARS (140 SEK) and their secret burger Burguesa Secreta a thicker 250-gram beef patty with cheddar, lettuce, caramelised onions, pickles and burger sauce for 16500 ARS (160 SEK).

Our burgers came wrapped in aluminium foil, and looked quite nice as we unfolded them. The patties had been grilled over a wood fire, and had a distinct grilled flavour that reminded us a lot of Tommi’s Burger Joint and to some extent Burger King. It was flavourful and nicely seasoned, but basically completely lacked crust. The whole cheeseburger was actually very soft, and it was only our extra pickles that we added for 600 ARS (5 crowns) that provided some extra crispiness – and some welcome acidity. The secret burger was significantly better, and the thicker beef patty offered a lot of flavour while all the fresh vegetables provided more crunch. Their sweet potato fries and waffle fries (at 7000 ARS ($65) each) offered different experiences. The waffle fries were pale and not even close to being triple-fried as stated on their menu, while the sweet potato fries were covered in both salt and sugar, which was unexpected but also quite good.

Frank’s Grill serve up some nice burgers, even though we would have liked to see a little more thought put into the textures. But we still appreciated the grilled flavour, and their secret thick patty burgers were a welcome addition to our latest trip to Argentina.

She Burger is a restaurant chain with several locations in Dubai and around the Middle East, and they participated in the Dubai Burger Championship 2026. The burger they served at the festival was the same name as the restaurant, She Burger, and it consisted of two smashed beef patties, roasted onions, veal bacon jam with a lot of coffee, and their signature sauce for 60 AED (16.5 USD).

We immediately felt that the burger had a very international appearance when we saw it, and it offered a well-shaped brioche bun, plenty of toppings, double meat patties. The bun was soft and had a good size, but the heel would have been able to handle the beef juices better if they’d let the patties rest before assembly. The Black Angus meat had a strong meat flavour with a robust seasoning, but we felt that the crust should have been more pronounced and that the meat could have been even juicier. The fried onion was texturally brilliant, and it added both flavour and a lovely crunch that the burger really needed. The veal bacon jam was incredibly good and had a much more mature taste than we are normally used to. It was very coffee heavy, which we really appreciated. On the other hand, the signature sauce was completely anonymous and didn’t make any real impression.

She Burger do a lot right with this burger, but they need to refine the details and the meat to really make it a winner. But that being said, they offer one of the better burgers in Dubai.
