Burgarkedjan Archie’s öppnade sin första restaurang i Manchester under 2010, och har numera cirka tio ställen runt om i England. Inredningen och konceptet går i rosa, med en inredningsestetik som känns som gjord för att fotograferas och läggas upp på sociala medier. Vi beställde en Royale with Cheese för 8 GBP (100 kronor), med två smashade köttpuckar, ost, pickles, tomat, sallad, lök och burgarsås i ett sesamtäckt briochebröd. Till detta beställde vi även deras crincle fries för 2,25 GBP (25 kronor) och en Billionaire Milkshake för 5 GBP (60 kronor).

Vår burgare serverades hårt packad i rosa aluminiumfolie, och allt såg rätt snyggt ut innan vi packat upp den. Men när vi försiktigt tagit av folien så dolde sig en riktigt ful och hoptryckt skapelse. Tur var väl då att smakerna var riktigt bra. Köttet var smakrikt och välkryddat, med en rejält tilltagen stekyta. Det var dock lite kompakt och aningen torrt. Salladen var krispig och tillförde en del fräschör och burgarsåsen hade en fin syra. Men den tråkiga och plastiga osten var väldigt trist, och hade inte smält ordentligt heller. Deras milkshakes var däremot helt fenomenala. Supertjocka, dekadenta och riktigt goda. Och deras räfflade pommes frites var rejält tilltagna och ordentligt kryddade.

Vi gillade mycket som Archie’s hade att erbjuda, men med tanke på att deras koncept verkar rikta sig mot tonåringar så kändes det ganska synd att de inte erbjöd någon meny, då vår måltid kostade runt 200 kronor totalt. Det kostade helt enkelt lite mer än det smakade. Men milkshakesen testar vi definitivt igen nästa gång vi är i närheten.

The burger chain Archie’s opened their first restaurant in Manchester in 2010, and now operate almost 10 places in several English cities. Their interiors and palette is pink, and their aesthetics lend themselves perfectly for today’s social media. We ordered a Royale with Cheese for 8 GBP (10 USD), with two smashed patties, cheese, pickles, tomato, lettuce, onions and their burger sauce in a sesame covered brioche bun. We also ordered their crincle fries for 2.25 GBP (2.5 USD) and a Billionaire Milkshake for 5 GBP (6 USD).

Our burger came tightly wrapped in pink aluminium wrapper, and our meal looked pretty nice until we unwrapped it. Because when we’d carefully removed the wrapper we were left with a squashed and sad looking burger. Thankfully the flavours were all there. The beef was tasty and properly seasoned, with a great crust. But it was a bit compact and a bit dry in the middle too. The lettuce was crispy and gave the burger some freshness and the burger sauce was nice and tangy, but their cheese was really cheap and hadn’t melted properly either. The biggest upside was their milkshakes; really thick, amazingly decadent and super tasty. Their crincle cut fries were thick and properly seasoned, and tasted really nice too.

We liked a lot of things that Archie’s had to offer, but seeing as their concept seems to be aimed at teenagers we felt that the price was far too high for what we got, and we would have liked some kind of meal deal considering that our meal cost over 15 GBP (almost 20 USD). But we’ll be coming back for the milkshakes next time we’re in the area, that’s for sure!

She Burger is a restaurant chain with several locations in Dubai and around the Middle East, and they participated in the Dubai Burger Championship 2026. The burger they served at the festival was the same name as the restaurant, She Burger, and it consisted of two smashed beef patties, roasted onions, veal bacon jam with a lot of coffee, and their signature sauce for 60 AED (16.5 USD).

We immediately felt that the burger had a very international appearance when we saw it, and it offered a well-shaped brioche bun, plenty of toppings, double meat patties. The bun was soft and had a good size, but the heel would have been able to handle the beef juices better if they’d let the patties rest before assembly. The Black Angus meat had a strong meat flavour with a robust seasoning, but we felt that the crust should have been more pronounced and that the meat could have been even juicier. The fried onion was texturally brilliant, and it added both flavour and a lovely crunch that the burger really needed. The veal bacon jam was incredibly good and had a much more mature taste than we are normally used to. It was very coffee heavy, which we really appreciated. On the other hand, the signature sauce was completely anonymous and didn’t make any real impression.

She Burger do a lot right with this burger, but they need to refine the details and the meat to really make it a winner. But that being said, they offer one of the better burgers in Dubai.
