Papas Burgers opened at Rådhustorget in Landskrona in 2024 and is partly run by the former owner of LA Burgers. The large restaurant wasn’t particularly inviting or cosy, but it was bright and had high ceilings. Their menu consisted pizzas and also eight beef burgers, one chicken burger and two vegetarian options. Their menu was quite varied, but we struggled to find two burgers that really stood out. We finally ordered a Nash Burger with double onion smashed beef patties, cheddar, pickles, pickled red onions, mustard and the house dressing, and a Barbecute with a single beef patty, cheddar, grilled pineapple, jalapeños, lettuce and BBQ sauce. The burgers cost 107 SEK (11.5 USD) each, but lunch included french fries and a soft drink for an additional 22 SEK (2.5 USD). It was a little confusing, because the lunch burger had a single 120-gram beef patty, while the à la carte burgers offered double 80-gram beef patties.

Our burgers were nicely assembled, and the Swedish meat had a decent crust and was also quite well seasoned. However, it was obvious to us immediately that the double burger had a much better beef-to-bun ratio. The single burger was just too small. The bun was well toasted, held together well, and tasted really nicely. We appreciated the fried onions in the Nash Burger and also the pickled red onions, but unfortunately their pickles were very sweet and they also used a sweet mustard instead of American yellow mustard. But otherwise it was pretty tasty. Barbecute unfortunately suffered from the monotonously sweet BBQ sauce and the fact that the grilled pineapple was a hastily heated slice of canned pineapple that was really uninspiring. The french fries were overcooked with a hard crust and a rather empty interior, but we really liked their flavourful sweet potato french fries for 39 SEK (4 USD).

Papas Burgers serve pretty decent burgers in Landskrona, but most of the dishes were a little too sweet and we would have liked to see a more balanced flavour profile.

🇦🇪 @she_burger ★★★★☆

She Burger is a restaurant chain with several locations in Dubai and around the Middle East, and they participated in the Dubai Burger Championship 2026. The burger they served at the festival was the same name as the restaurant, She Burger, and it consisted of two smashed beef patties, roasted onions, veal bacon jam with a lot of coffee, and their signature sauce for 60 AED (16.5 USD).

We immediately felt that the burger had a very international appearance when we saw it, and it offered a well-shaped brioche bun, plenty of toppings, double meat patties. The bun was soft and had a good size, but the heel would have been able to handle the beef juices better if they’d let the patties rest before assembly. The Black Angus meat had a strong meat flavour with a robust seasoning, but we felt that the crust should have been more pronounced and that the meat could have been even juicier. The fried onion was texturally brilliant, and it added both flavour and a lovely crunch that the burger really needed. The veal bacon jam was incredibly good and had a much more mature taste than we are normally used to. It was very coffee heavy, which we really appreciated. On the other hand, the signature sauce was completely anonymous and didn’t make any real impression.

She Burger do a lot right with this burger, but they need to refine the details and the meat to really make it a winner. But that being said, they offer one of the better burgers in Dubai.

🇸🇪 @thellas_foodtruck ★★★★☆

Thellas is a food truck in Gävle that we’ve heard a lot of positive things about since they opened in 2024. The menu at the time of our visit consisted of four beef burgers and a vegetarian option. We chose the classic ”Thellas Cheese” cheeseburger with double burger cheese, silver onions, dill pickles, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise. A single patty burger cost 115 SEK (12.5 USD), but we ordered a double 120-gram patty burger with for 145 SEK (15.5 USD) and also added 30 SEK (3 USD) for french fries and 15 SEK (1.5 USD) for a chili mayo.

There was a long line of people waiting for their food, and when the burger was served we were greeted by a well-composed and inviting cheeseburger. The first bite was incredibly flavourful and juicy, with a very clear crust on the patties. The beef was well-seasoned with a generous amount of coarsely ground black pepper. And the creamy cheese was delicious and nicely melted over the beef. Unfortunately, the bun was a bit of a disappointment, because despite looking good, it had been toasted for too long on the grill and lacked the fluffy texture we expect from a brioche bun. Their own-pickled cucumber was delicious and added both acidity and crunch, and we would have liked to see more of it so that it was spread over the entire burger. All the sauces did their job without standing out and were also in the right amount, without any one of them overpowering the others. We also liked the generous portion of crispy french fries, and the smoky chilli mayo was tasty – although it could have been a bit spicier.

Thellas undoubtedly serve one of the better burgers we’ve eaten in Gävle, and the service from the guys in the food truck was excellent as well. We definitely recommend keeping an eye on their schedule and visiting them if you’re in the area.
