In English

Rumi Hamburgare has two food wagons in Stockholm; one north of the city in Kungsängen Centrum and the other in Länna Handelsområde to the south. Their opening hours vary quite a bit and we didn’t manage to schedule a visit the last time we were in Kungsängen. But thankfully we could visit them in Länna instead, where we were greeted by a menu with ten different burgers, including vegetarian and vegan options. We ordered a double Cheeseburger with two 80-gram beef patties, double cheddar, red onion, iceberg lettuce and burger sauce for 104 SEK (9.5 USD).

Our burger was served shortly, and we could immediately see that this was a rather simple and unassuming burger. The bun was a bit dry and dense, so it was fortunate that this was a brioche bun as it was still quite airy on the inside. However, we would have preferred it to be both softer and more flexible. The double chuck patties were rather loosely smashed and would have benefited from a deeper crust, but they were still soft, juicy and flavourful with just the right amount of salt and pepper. It had a nice flavour, and we also appreciated that the burger sauce had a little sting to it, which lifted the flavours. The red onion was very thickly sliced, but it contributed with a lot of crispness which outweighed the fact that it made the burger very onion heavy. The iceberg lettuce was quite tired though, and the thin leaves quickly became warm and soft.

Rumi Hamburgare serve perfectly decent burgers at a reasonable price. They might not be worth an extra detour, but if you’re already in the neighbourhood after a shopping trip, you won’t be disappointed by their burgers.

🇸🇪 Mother of Wagon ★★★★☆

Mother of Wagon opened by Arboga’s train station in the summer of 2026, and is actually run by the mother of the owner of The Wagon Burgers & Brews in Stockholm. Besides the clever name, they also offered four burgers, all of which could be made vegetarian. We ordered a Cheeseburger with two 100-gram mustard-smashed beef patties, cheddar, onions, pickles, ketchup and dressing in a brioche bun. It cost 130 SEK (14 USD), and we also added fries for 30 SEK (3 USD).

The burger looked really good when it arrived, even if it had been assembled somewhat hastily with a lot of sauce. The flavours worked well, but all that sauce made it a little difficult to eat as the patties kept sliding around. The beef from a local farm in Örebro was generously seasoned and had plenty of flavour. However, it had been slightly overworked and was a bit too compact, and we would’ve preferred a more airy texture. The cheese had melted nicely over the patties, and we also appreciated that the fluffy bun had been nicely toasted on the inside, helping it hold together throughout the meal. We liked the finely chopped onions, while the pickles were crunchy, if slightly sweet. Although the mustard smash added plenty of flavour to the beef, we would’ve appreciated the acidity of American yellow mustard instead of the fairly sweet burger sauce. The fries came in a very generous portion and were thick and well-cooked, but slightly too heavily salted.

Mother of Wagon has managed to build a really solid foundation in just a few months, and the friendly staff also contributed to the experience. We’re really happy that it’s now possible to get a good burger in central Arboga.
