Svenska Hamburgerköket i Midsommarkransen är en institution inom Stockholms burgarscen. De öppnade redan 2013 när den första burgarvågen drabbade vår huvudstad, och var tidigt en av våra stora favoriter. Vi recenserade dem redan i januari 2015, men trots flera återbesök så har vi inte märkt av några större förändringar i vare sig kvalitet eller koncept. Men nu hade det faktiskt gått flera år sedan vårt senaste besök, så något måste de väl ha ändrat på?

Lokalen var sig lik i alla fall, med flera sittplatser i två rum, samt en stor uteservering på sommaren. Menyn var också välbekant, med 180-gramsburgare som kostar mellan 99 och 149 kronor styck och som alla innehåller sallad, tomat, lök och dressing. Av tidigare erfarenhet vet vi att deras dubbelburgare har en helt orimlig ratio mellan kött och bröd, och valet föll därför på en enkel Fyrvaktaren med ost för 105 kronor, samt en enkel Grosshandlaren med ost och rökt sidfläsk för 109 kronor.

Burgarna såg ut ungefär som vi mindes dem; stora och med massor av klassiska ingredienser. Smakmässigt så bjöds vi inte heller på några större överraskningar. Köttet smakade klart godkänt medan brödet var lite tuggigt, och alla de medföljande gatuköksingredienserna gjorde upplevelsen lite tam. Vi uppskattade den ekologiska burgarcheddarn, men sidfläsket på vår Grosshandlarn var segt och alldeles för tjockt – precis som tidigare.

Kvalitetsmässigt så trampar Svenska Hamburgerköket vatten. De har lyckats göra mindre förbättringar för att hålla ungefär samma nivå som tidigare, men här finns inget större nytänk. På burgarfronten intet nytt, med andra ord.

Svenska Hamburgerköket in Midsommarkransen is a real classic on Stockholm’s burger scene. They first opened in 2013 when the first burger wave hit the Swedish capital, and were one of our early favourites back in the day. We first reviewed them back in January 2015, but haven’t seen any real changes over the years when it came to neither their quality nor their concept. But now several years had passed since our last visit, so we gathered that they must have changed something … right?

The restaurant itself looked pretty much the same as always, with several seats in two rooms and a spacious outdoor seating area in the summer. The menu looked very familiar as well, with 180-gram patty burgers costing between 99 and 149 SEK (11–17 USD). All of them contained tomato, lettuce, onions and burger sauce. Previous visits have taught us to only eat single patty burgers (the 360-gram burger’s patty-to-bun ratio is completely off), so we opted for a single Fyrvaktaren with cheese for 105 SEK and a single Grosshandlarn with cheese and smoked pork belly for 109 SEK (around 12 USD each).

The burgers hadn’t changed much appearance wise. They were pretty big and filled with classic ingredients. Taste-wise they didn’t surprise us much either. The beef tasted quite nice, but the bun was a bit chewy. And the regular ingredients gave the burger a classic but somewhat lackluster feeling. We liked the organic burger cheddar, but the pork belly on our Grosshandlarn burger was chewy and far too thick – just as always.

Svenska Hamburgerköket have evolved just enough to keep up with the rest of Stockholm’s burger scene, but there wasn’t much innovation to be found here.

Svenska Hamburgerköket ligger mellan tunnelbanestationerna Midsommarkransen och Telefonplan, och har lockat till sig besökare från hela Stockholm sedan 2013. De stoltserar med en stor del ekologiska ingredienser, samt bröd som har bakats av det prisbelönta Lundsbergs Bageri.

Efter flera besök kan vi konstatera att det egentligen bara är Fyrvaktaren som gäller, en burgare med en 180-gramsköttpuck med enbart ost och inget sidfläsk. Sidfläsket är nämligen lite för segt och tjockt, och smakerna blir obalanserade med två köttpuckar.

Den enkla ostburgaren kostar 105 kronor med pommes frites (95 kronor när det vankas lunch), vilket gör detta till ett prisvärt alternativ. Brödet är saftigt och aningen sött, och köttpucken är saftig med ett lätt rosa inre. Pommes fritesen är tyvärr inte egengjorda och skulle passa bättre på ett gatukök, och den medföljande dipsåsen smakar mest hamburgerdressing. Som tur är finns såväl barbecuesås och senap vid borden.

Den vegetariska burgaren består av en champinjon- och cheddarblandning, och är väl värd att beställas för alla icke-karnivorer där ute. Ölutbudet imponerar också, så trots att vi inte är helt nöjda med tillbehören kommer vi gärna tillbaka igen.

She Burger is a restaurant chain with several locations in Dubai and around the Middle East, and they participated in the Dubai Burger Championship 2026. The burger they served at the festival was the same name as the restaurant, She Burger, and it consisted of two smashed beef patties, roasted onions, veal bacon jam with a lot of coffee, and their signature sauce for 60 AED (16.5 USD).

We immediately felt that the burger had a very international appearance when we saw it, and it offered a well-shaped brioche bun, plenty of toppings, double meat patties. The bun was soft and had a good size, but the heel would have been able to handle the beef juices better if they’d let the patties rest before assembly. The Black Angus meat had a strong meat flavour with a robust seasoning, but we felt that the crust should have been more pronounced and that the meat could have been even juicier. The fried onion was texturally brilliant, and it added both flavour and a lovely crunch that the burger really needed. The veal bacon jam was incredibly good and had a much more mature taste than we are normally used to. It was very coffee heavy, which we really appreciated. On the other hand, the signature sauce was completely anonymous and didn’t make any real impression.

She Burger do a lot right with this burger, but they need to refine the details and the meat to really make it a winner. But that being said, they offer one of the better burgers in Dubai.

Thellas is a food truck in Gävle that we’ve heard a lot of positive things about since they opened in 2024. The menu at the time of our visit consisted of four beef burgers and a vegetarian option. We chose the classic ”Thellas Cheese” cheeseburger with double burger cheese, silver onions, dill pickles, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise. A single patty burger cost 115 SEK (12.5 USD), but we ordered a double 120-gram patty burger with for 145 SEK (15.5 USD) and also added 30 SEK (3 USD) for french fries and 15 SEK (1.5 USD) for a chili mayo.

There was a long line of people waiting for their food, and when the burger was served we were greeted by a well-composed and inviting cheeseburger. The first bite was incredibly flavourful and juicy, with a very clear crust on the patties. The beef was well-seasoned with a generous amount of coarsely ground black pepper. And the creamy cheese was delicious and nicely melted over the beef. Unfortunately, the bun was a bit of a disappointment, because despite looking good, it had been toasted for too long on the grill and lacked the fluffy texture we expect from a brioche bun. Their own-pickled cucumber was delicious and added both acidity and crunch, and we would have liked to see more of it so that it was spread over the entire burger. All the sauces did their job without standing out and were also in the right amount, without any one of them overpowering the others. We also liked the generous portion of crispy french fries, and the smoky chilli mayo was tasty – although it could have been a bit spicier.

Thellas undoubtedly serve one of the better burgers we’ve eaten in Gävle, and the service from the guys in the food truck was excellent as well. We definitely recommend keeping an eye on their schedule and visiting them if you’re in the area.
