In English

Dreamburger is a neon-lit food truck we came across outside Vinyl Tap in East Nashville. With only two burgers on the menu, we made it easy on ourselves and chose one of each. The Dreamburger, with its two smashed Angus beef patties, double American cheese, fried onions, dill pickles and Dream sauce, cost 9 USD. The California Dreamin’ for 10 USD was similar, but the beef was mustard-fried and it also contained both tomato and iceberg lettuce. We ordered a portion of fries for 3 USD as well.

The small burgers were a real feast for the eye. The meat’s crust was not only impressive, but the pattys were also very tender and juicy despite being very thin. The bun was neutral in flavour, but could have been toasted a little more. The cheese, which was nicely melted over the heavily smashed meat, added a creaminess that complemented the flavour experience perfectly. The pickles were crispy and had a distinct dill flavour that really lifted the flavour and texture of the burger. The Dream sauce reminded us of a classic burger sauce, but with a hint of yellow mustard that cut through nicely. The California Dreamin’ was clearly the best burger of the two, as the mustard added another dimension to the flavour profile without being overpowering. In addition, both the tomato and lettuce provided a nice freshness and texture. The crinkle cut fries were tasty, but perhaps not that remarkable.

Dreamburger serve great burgers in a really cool environment, and we loved being able to enjoy a delicious burger, pop into a record store, enjoy a beer and listen to live music – all in the same place. If you’re visiting Nashville, this is an experience well worth trying.

🍔 Review № 1381

Black Bear Burger is one of the veterans of the modern burger wave in England, and we have tried their burgers several times since our first review in 2017. Over the years, Black Bear Burger has received more and more attention and hype, both domestically and internationally, and today they are one of the most well-known burger restaurants in all of England. They have locations at nearly 10 places around London, and we visited their restaurant inside the Market Halls Victoria food hall and ordered their Double Miso Bacon Burger – the same burger that won them the National Burger of the Year 2025 award. The burger contained double patties, double cheese, smoked bacon and their miso butter mayo, and it cost 15.8 GBP (21 USD).

The burger looked exactly as we remembered it, with pre-formed patties and a pale bun covered in a generous layer of sesame seeds. The bun was soft and fluffy, but just like on our previous visits, we felt that the crust-like amount of sesame seeds took over both in terms of flavour and texture. The meat was of high quality as always and had a nice and potent dry-aged character that they are known for. The meat could have been juicier though, as it felt a bit too compact this time. The bacon was super tasty and crispy, just the way we like it, and the onion also contributed a nice texture. Their miso butter mayo was very flavourful with its buttery, salty, and umami-rich taste, but together with the bacon and the beef, the overall flavour profile was a bit too salty. We would have liked to see some kind of freshness to break up the saltiness for a more complete experience.

We are very happy that a veteran like Black Bear Burger continues to deliver high-quality burgers year after year, and they are still a safe bet when you are craving a really good burger in London.
