The Habit Burger Grill har sedan starten i Santa Barbara 1969 växt till en medelstor och välrenommerad burgarkedja med fler än 250 restauranger utspridda över USA. De finns främst på västkusten, men har expanderat till övriga USA och har även en handfull restauranger i Kina.
På den sparsmakade och lågt prissatta menyn kunde vi välja mellan sex olika burgare, varav en vegetarisk. Vårt val blev en Double Charburger med dubbla köttpuckar, sallad, karamelliserad lök, tomat, majonnäs och pickles. Burgaren såg onekligen väldigt bra ut för att vara på en snabbmatsrestaurang, och smakupplevelsen gjorde oss minst lika positiva.
Det grillade köttet var saftigt trots att det hade en rejäl grillyta, och krispigt bacon och krämig ost kan aldrig vara fel. Detta var mycket gott! Knapriga och härligt syrliga pickles samt väldigt fräscha grönsaker bidrog till en positiv helhetsupplevelse. Den var aningen för hårt grillad och hade mått bra av lite mer peppar, men annars hade vi inte mycket att anmärka på.
Som ni säkert redan vet är vi normalt sett inga större fans av sesambröd, men The Habits bröd som var frasigt uppvärmt var faktiskt bland de bättre i kategorin. Prismässigt ligger The Habit lite över In-N-Out Burger men under Shake Shack, men kvalitetsmässigt ligger de precis under dessa. Med det sagt så är The Habit Burger Grill väl värda ett besök nästa gång du befinner dig i närheten av en av deras restauranger.

The Habit Burger Grill opened their first restaurant in Santa Barbara back in 1969, and have now grown to be a quite large chain with over 250 restaurants in the U.S. They’re mainly based on the west coast, but have expanded across the country and even have several locations in China.
Their spartan menu contains six burgers, including one vegetarian, and their prices are respectably low. We ordered a Double Charburger with two grilled patties, lettuce, caramelised onions, tomatoes, mayo and pickles. It looked excellent, especially coming from a fast-food chain, and it tasted just as great.
The grilled beef was really juicy and was nicely charred, and the crispy bacon and creamy cheese worked wonders. We were really impressed by the flavours. The crunchy and acidic pickles worked great with the fresh vegetables, and we were very satisfied with our meal. Our only real complaint is that they could have grilled the patties a bit less and seasoned them with more pepper, but that’s about it.
It takes a great burger to handle a sesame bun, and thankfully this hamburger handled it great. It was nicely heated and one of the better ones we’ve eaten. The Habit Burger Grill’s menu is priced between In-N-Out Burger and Shake Shack, but quality-wise they fall just a little short of both of these legendary chains. But they’re still definitely worth a visit if you find yourself near one of their locations.
