Från början var lokalen faktiskt restaurangens handikapptoalett, men i samband med en omfattande renovering så föddes Fatty’s som ett sätt att hålla igång verksamheten, om än i minskad skala. Här finns endast en takeaway-lucka, även om det står ett par bord precis ned för trappan. Menyn rymde tre enkla burgare, samt en variant med kyckling och ett vegetariskt alternativ. Vi testade deras Bacon Cheeseburger med cheddarost, bacon, pickles, lök och dressing i ett briochebröd för 85 DKK (115 SEK), samt uppgraderade till en meny med pommes frites och en dricka för totalt 125 DKK (170 SEK).
Det vackra brödet var varmt, fluffigt och snyggt rostat på insidan, och passade utmärkt till resten av burgaren. Köttet var lagom kryddat och saftigt, med en tydlig och god köttsmak. Några av oss tyckte att det var lite kompakt, medan andra tyckte att texturen och konsistensen var alldeles utmärkt. Dressingen höll sig i bakgrunden, men hjälpte till att lyfta fram köttet mycket bra. Picklesen påminde om smörgåsgurka, men räddades av en riktigt bra balans mellan sötman, sältan och syrligheten. Vi hade gärna sett lite mer krispighet i baconet, men tillsammans med den skivade rödlöken och picklesen så bildade det i alla fall flera olika texturer som bröt av mot köttet och det fluffiga brödet på ett mycket tillfredställande sätt. Pommes fritesen var välfriterade med en god potatissmak, och de hjälpte till att lyfta måltiden.
Fatty’s Burger serverar snygga, vällagade och framför allt goda burgare från sitt lilla fönster. Trots några mindre skavanker så är det här ändå en av de bästa burgarna vi har testat i Köpenhamn.

Fatty’s Burger is the Copenhagen restaurant The Fat Pike’s burger slinging sibling, located by Islands Brygge. In the beginning, this unassuming hole in the wall used to be the main restaurant’s toilet for disabled persons, but during their ongoing renovation Fatty’s was born as a way to keep the business going. They only serve takeaway burgers, even though there are a few seats just down the stairs. The menu consists of three beef burgers, a chicken burger and a vegetarian option. We ordered their Bacon Cheeseburger with cheddar, bacon, pickles, onions and burger sauce in a brioche bun for 85 DKK (13.5 USD), and upgraded to a menu with french fries and a soft drink for a total of 125 DKK (19.5 USD).
The pretty bun was warm, fluffy and toasted on the inside, and worked great with the other ingredients. The patty was seasoned just right and very juicy, with nice beefy flavours. A few of us felt that the texture was a bit compact, while others got a burger with just the right consistency. The burger sauce was a bit anonymous, but helped highlight the beef. And even though the pickles were quite sweet, they did well balancing out all the other parts of the burger. We would have liked a bit crispier bacon, but it worked together with the sliced red onions and the pickles to create various textures that worked really well with the beef and the fluffy bun. We enjoyed the well-cooked french fries and their distinct potato flavours, which really complemented the meal.
Fatty’s Burger serve good looking, well-cooked and really tasty burgers from their small window, and even though everything wasn’t perfect they’re still one of the best hamburger joints we’ve tried in Copenhagen.
