🍔 Review № 1326
🇸🇪 @mobsburger ★★★★☆
MOB’s Burger, or Meat on Bun, is a new food truck by Sollentuna Centrum in Stockholm that has quickly become a real hot topic. Their menu was nice and short, with four burgers and two different topped fries. We ordered a Classic 68 with cheddar, white onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard, as well as a Mob Father with cheddar, candied jalapeños and chilis, white onions and a jalapeño mayo. Both burgers had two 100-gram beef patties and cost 138 SEK (15 USD) each. We also ordered fries for an additional 30 SEK (3 USD).
Our burgers were excellently constructed, with well-balanced proportions and felt great when we picked them up. The bun felt great and had been toasted on the inside, giving it all the stability it needed. The deep, golden-brown crust on the patties gave way to a tender and juicy inside under the crispy crust. Unfortunately, the meat flavour didn’t quite reach the same heights, and we noticed a distinct lack of salt that made the beef surprisingly anonymous. We enjoyed the classic cheeseburger flavours in the Classic 68, while the Mob Father offered a great amount of heat and was well-balanced. However, we would have preferred thicker slices of chilli to make a bigger impression, and we also noticed that the onions were too thinly sliced in both burgers. Thicker slices would have improved both the taste and texture, as it was a bit difficult to bite through them when they were so thin. Otherwise, everything was really good, and we liked the thick pickles in the cheeseburger, which added a good amount of acidity and complemented the other flavours well. The fries were excellenty cooked and perfectly salted, just as we like them.
We were very impressed by MOB’s Burger’s debut, and they are definitely a force to be reckoned with on the Swedish burger scene.
