In English

The Spanish burger chain La Muralla has several restaurants in Castellón, just north of Valencia, in Almenara, Vila-real and Vall d’Uixó. Previously voted one of Spain’s best burgers, they defended their title at The Champions Burger festival in Barcelona with their Pryngles’s burger. It contained a 180-gram 45 day dry-aged beef patty, aged cheddar, bacon, shoe string fries and ’Pryngles sauce’ and cost 12.5 EUR (13.5 USD) at the festival.

Our burger looked pretty crazy upon arrival, with lots of toppings, a chip tucked into the top lid and a generous layer of parmesan powder on top of the crown. Even before our first bite, our hands were sticky, and halfway through the meal, our burger was barely holding together. Fortunately, the flavours were great. The soft, dry-aged meat offered very deep beef flavours and almost melted in our mouths. The bun was fluffy with a generous cooking surface on the inside and the bacon was wonderfully crispy with plenty of saltiness and smokiness. The Pryngles sauce was very creamy and had a distinct potato chip flavour, and was actually tastier than expected, but the cheese unfortunately covered everything and made the already hard-to-eat burger even more difficult to finish. Other toppings, such as the shoe string fries and paremsan powder, had textures and flavours that weren’t really necessary.

La Muralla didn’t win the final, but they placed an honourable second at the festival. There was quite a bit about this burger that was top-notch, but there was a little too much of everything. We hope that the burgers on their regular menu are a bit more balanced, because we are very interested to see what they can achieve in their restaurants.

🍔 Review № 1381

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 @black_bear_burger ★★★★☆

Black Bear Burger is one of the veterans of the modern burger wave in England, and we have tried their burgers several times since our first review in 2017. Over the years, Black Bear Burger has received more and more attention and hype, both domestically and internationally, and today they are one of the most well-known burger restaurants in all of England. They have locations at nearly 10 places around London, and we visited their restaurant inside the Market Halls Victoria food hall and ordered their Double Miso Bacon Burger – the same burger that won them the National Burger of the Year 2025 award. The burger contained double patties, double cheese, smoked bacon and their miso butter mayo, and it cost 15.8 GBP (21 USD).

The burger looked exactly as we remembered it, with pre-formed patties and a pale bun covered in a generous layer of sesame seeds. The bun was soft and fluffy, but just like on our previous visits, we felt that the crust-like amount of sesame seeds took over both in terms of flavour and texture. The meat was of high quality as always and had a nice and potent dry-aged character that they are known for. The meat could have been juicier though, as it felt a bit too compact this time. The bacon was super tasty and crispy, just the way we like it, and the onion also contributed a nice texture. Their miso butter mayo was very flavourful with its buttery, salty, and umami-rich taste, but together with the bacon and the beef, the overall flavour profile was a bit too salty. We would have liked to see some kind of freshness to break up the saltiness for a more complete experience.

We are very happy that a veteran like Black Bear Burger continues to deliver high-quality burgers year after year, and they are still a safe bet when you are craving a really good burger in London.
