In English

Burger Inn are located in Falkenberg, which is more known for their nice beach and Lilla Napoli – Sweden’s premier Neapolitan pizza restaurant. But when we passed them and saw that they served chuck burgers we needed to check them out. Their extensive menu contained 50 or so different options, and chuck patties were an optional extra that cost 25 SEK (3 USD) more. We ordered a classic burger, with 200 grams of chuck beef, cheese, lettuce, burger sauce and pickles for 124 SEK (14 USD), including french fries and a soft drink.

Our burger looked a bit sloppy, but still looked better than we’d expected. The cheese was nicely melted, and the two 100-gram patties gave the burger some nice ratios. But after just a bite we could see that there wasn’t much finess to be found here. The beef’s flavour was alright, but it had a soft and almost boiled consistency. And the bun was covered with a thin crust on the outside, while being soft and mushy on the inside. The burger sauce was far too sweet as well, and reminded us of a classic burger sauce from a store-bought bottle. We did like the french fries though.

The meal in itself was rather filling, but at the end of the day they made more mistakes than we’d like to see and the most positive thing about our dining experience was the friendly staff. We do appreciate that Burger Inn serve burgers with fresh meat though, and just hope that they focus more on the basics in the future.

🍔 Review № 1397

🇺🇸 @localtide ★★★★☆

Local Tide is a hyped fish restaurant in central Seattle. And while most of the menu focuses on seafood, their burger has also become a bit of a talking point. They don’t take reservations, and when we arrived there were around 20 people queuing outside the small restaurant, with an hour-long wait. Luckily, there was space next door at Aslan Brewing, which served their burger and a handful of other dishes from Local Tide. We ordered their Smash Burger with beef, cheese, caramelised onions and mayo in a brioche bun for 10 USD, as well as a portion of Salt and Pepper Fries for 8 USD. We also tried their Salmon Sando for 16 USD.

After waiting around an hour for our food, our burger arrived neatly presented on a small plate. The bun looked a little flat but was lighter and fluffier than we’d expected. The beef was incredibly juicy and well salted, while the cheese was both creamy and flavourful. The caramelised onions were packed with umami and really enhanced the flavour of the beef. Both the bun and beef had a decent crust, although both could’ve been cooked a little more. Our main critique was that the burger would’ve been even better with a few more crispy components, and perhaps a bit bigger. The fries were like potato wedges and were incredibly well cooked. The generous portion was crispy and well seasoned, and their homemade ketchup was really tasty. The 16 USD salmon burger also impressed us with its fresh salmon fillet, great textures and fresh flavours.

It’s great to see a seafood restaurant serving burgers as good as the ones at Local Tide. The other seafood dishes are of course also worth trying, but make sure to arrive early and be prepared to wait a while for your food.
