Street Food To Go

Street Food To Go serverar en god och prisvärd hamburgare utan större krusiduller.

In English

Street Food To Go is a small burger joint by Mölndals Bro in the southern parts of Gothenburg, and they’ve served hamburgers there since 2017. During our visit they offered 10 burgers, including a couple of vegetarian options (and all burgers could be ordered with beef or vegan patties, as well). They offered three different sizes; single burgers patties with a 130-gram patty, double burgers with two 100-gram patties and XL burgers with two 130-gram patties. We ordered their signature burger ”Street Food” with a single patty, Swedish prästost cheese, red onions, caramelised onions, roasted onions, lettuce and a truffle mayo. It cost a reasonable 105 SEK (10 USD), including a drink and some french fries.

Our burger looked pretty nice when it arrived, but there wasn’t really anything that grabbed our attention. The bun was nicely toasted, and flavour-wise everything felt well balanced. The beef’s seasoning and texture was fine, and we enjoyed the prästost cheese, which was a bit of an unorthodox choice that actually worked here and complemented the other ingredients. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, and the roasted onions added some nice crunch. It’s no easy feat to find the right amount of truffle without being overpowering, but it worked quite well here. But with the caramelised onions the umami flavours took over a bit, and the acidity from the red onions wasn’t enough to counter them. The crispy french fries were tasty, with some great potato flavours.

Street Food To Go serve a burger that tastes good at a really attractive price-point. There isn’t much about them that bowled us over, but we’re still happy to return in the future to check out more of their menu.

🍔 Review № 1381

Black Bear Burger is one of the veterans of the modern burger wave in England, and we have tried their burgers several times since our first review in 2017. Over the years, Black Bear Burger has received more and more attention and hype, both domestically and internationally, and today they are one of the most well-known burger restaurants in all of England. They have locations at nearly 10 places around London, and we visited their restaurant inside the Market Halls Victoria food hall and ordered their Double Miso Bacon Burger – the same burger that won them the National Burger of the Year 2025 award. The burger contained double patties, double cheese, smoked bacon and their miso butter mayo, and it cost 15.8 GBP (21 USD).

The burger looked exactly as we remembered it, with pre-formed patties and a pale bun covered in a generous layer of sesame seeds. The bun was soft and fluffy, but just like on our previous visits, we felt that the crust-like amount of sesame seeds took over both in terms of flavour and texture. The meat was of high quality as always and had a nice and potent dry-aged character that they are known for. The meat could have been juicier though, as it felt a bit too compact this time. The bacon was super tasty and crispy, just the way we like it, and the onion also contributed a nice texture. Their miso butter mayo was very flavourful with its buttery, salty, and umami-rich taste, but together with the bacon and the beef, the overall flavour profile was a bit too salty. We would have liked to see some kind of freshness to break up the saltiness for a more complete experience.

We are very happy that a veteran like Black Bear Burger continues to deliver high-quality burgers year after year, and they are still a safe bet when you are craving a really good burger in London.
