Restaurang Saras ligger i samma byggnad som Ica Maxi i Kungsbacka, och menyn består av fyra olika köttburgare samt en halloumiburgare. Vi visste på förhand att ambitionsnivån var hög med en egen blandning av högrev och bringa, ekologisk burgarcheddar och ett amerikanskt potato bun, och priserna var föredömligt låga där en singelburgare kostade 59 kronor och en dubbelburgare 79 kronor, samt ytterligare 20 kronor för en meny med pommes frites och dryck. Vi beställde en dubbel Maxi’s Burgare med cheddar, sallad, lök och dressing.

När hamburgaren serverades några minuter senare så tyckte vi den såg lite ledsen ut. Monteringen kändes slarvig, och en av ostskivorna var bara delvis smält. Vår burgare innehöll dessutom tomat, vilket den inte skulle göra enligt menyn. Men efter en tugga kunde vi i alla fall konstatera att det inte var något fel på köttsmaken. Det högkvalitativa köttet hade dock gärna fått var lite mer kryddat och fått stekas lite hårdare, då vi saknade lite mer kraft i smakerna och en bättre stekyta. Det mjuka och fina brödet gjorde jobbet väl, men det hade inte tyvärr inte blivit rostat eller värmt på stekbordet, och kom inte riktigt till sin rätt. Den smakrika och krämiga burgarcheddarn uppskattades i alla fall, mycket för att burgardressingen var lite för söt för vår smak och löken inte heller bröt av denna sötma.

På pappret så borde Restaurang Saras servera en förstklassig burgare, men detta kräver att personalen känner samma passion för hamburgare som personen som köpt in alla högkvalitativa ingredienser. Om de ser till att sätta grunderna så är vi övertygade om att det finns potential för förbättring, men det gäller att de verkligen bevisar att de vet vad de gör. För det har de inte gjort ännu.

Restaurang Saras can be found inside the Ica Maxi supermarket in Kungsbacka, and their menu consists of four beef burgers and a halloumi option. Their high ambitions were immediately clear, seeing as they used a bespoke chuck and brisket blend, organic burger cheddar and an American potato roll. Their prices are also more than reasonable, with a single-patty burger costing just 59 SEK (6.5 USD) and a double burger costing 79 SEK (8.5 USD), with a menu with french fries and a soft drink for an additional 20 SEK (2 USD). We ordered a double Maxi’s Burgare burger with cheddar, lettuce, onions and burger sauce.

When our hamburger arrived just a few minutes later it looked pretty sad. It had been assembled without much care, and one of the cheese slices was only partially melted. Strangely enough, it contained a slice of tomato as well, despite that ingredient being missing from the menu. But after our first bite we could at least confirm that the patty had a nice beefy flavour. However, the high quality beef blend could have done with some more seasoning and a bit more crust, as it felt a bit tame and soft. The soft and tasty bun did its job, but seeing as it hadn’t been toasted it didn’t really pop. Flavour and texture wise, the meal was helped a lot by the tasty cheddar, especially since the burger sauce was too sweet for our liking and the onion didn’t mitigate that sweetness.

On paper, Restaurang Saras should serve a top-notch burger, but this requires that the kitchen staff shares the same burger passion as the person who’s ordered all of these great ingredients. If they manage to get the basics right we see a lot of potential here, but they really need to prove that they know what they’re doing. Because they really haven’t so far.

She Burger is a restaurant chain with several locations in Dubai and around the Middle East, and they participated in the Dubai Burger Championship 2026. The burger they served at the festival was the same name as the restaurant, She Burger, and it consisted of two smashed beef patties, roasted onions, veal bacon jam with a lot of coffee, and their signature sauce for 60 AED (16.5 USD).

We immediately felt that the burger had a very international appearance when we saw it, and it offered a well-shaped brioche bun, plenty of toppings, double meat patties. The bun was soft and had a good size, but the heel would have been able to handle the beef juices better if they’d let the patties rest before assembly. The Black Angus meat had a strong meat flavour with a robust seasoning, but we felt that the crust should have been more pronounced and that the meat could have been even juicier. The fried onion was texturally brilliant, and it added both flavour and a lovely crunch that the burger really needed. The veal bacon jam was incredibly good and had a much more mature taste than we are normally used to. It was very coffee heavy, which we really appreciated. On the other hand, the signature sauce was completely anonymous and didn’t make any real impression.

She Burger do a lot right with this burger, but they need to refine the details and the meat to really make it a winner. But that being said, they offer one of the better burgers in Dubai.

Thellas is a food truck in Gävle that we’ve heard a lot of positive things about since they opened in 2024. The menu at the time of our visit consisted of four beef burgers and a vegetarian option. We chose the classic ”Thellas Cheese” cheeseburger with double burger cheese, silver onions, dill pickles, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise. A single patty burger cost 115 SEK (12.5 USD), but we ordered a double 120-gram patty burger with for 145 SEK (15.5 USD) and also added 30 SEK (3 USD) for french fries and 15 SEK (1.5 USD) for a chili mayo.

There was a long line of people waiting for their food, and when the burger was served we were greeted by a well-composed and inviting cheeseburger. The first bite was incredibly flavourful and juicy, with a very clear crust on the patties. The beef was well-seasoned with a generous amount of coarsely ground black pepper. And the creamy cheese was delicious and nicely melted over the beef. Unfortunately, the bun was a bit of a disappointment, because despite looking good, it had been toasted for too long on the grill and lacked the fluffy texture we expect from a brioche bun. Their own-pickled cucumber was delicious and added both acidity and crunch, and we would have liked to see more of it so that it was spread over the entire burger. All the sauces did their job without standing out and were also in the right amount, without any one of them overpowering the others. We also liked the generous portion of crispy french fries, and the smoky chilli mayo was tasty – although it could have been a bit spicier.

Thellas undoubtedly serve one of the better burgers we’ve eaten in Gävle, and the service from the guys in the food truck was excellent as well. We definitely recommend keeping an eye on their schedule and visiting them if you’re in the area.
