Box For Life

Box for Life har gjort mycket rätt på väldigt kort tid.

In English

Box for Life is a food wagon out in the Ingelsta shopping district, in the outskirts of Norrköping. They opened in the summer of 2022, and quickly made a name for themselves as one of the cities’ best lunch places for a smash burger. Their menu consists of a handful of different burgers, costing 119 SEK (11 USD) for a single 90-gram hamburger and 144 SEK (13 USD) for a double-patty 180-gram burger, including an order of french fries. We ordered a double Simply Sebbe with double cheddar, pickled red onions, cheese dip, ketchup and a dijon mayo, plus a double Flaming Sebbe with double cheddar, maple syrup bacon, pickled red onions, a jalapeño cheese dip, pickled jalapeños, ketchup and a dijon mayo. For our french fries we chose one with regular salt and one with a parmesan parsley seasoning.

Our large burgers arrived filled with ingredients, and were packed with flavours. The organic beef was well-seasoned and had a great crust, but had problems standing out in our Flaming Sebbe, as the many other flavourful ingredients were a bit overpowering. We could have done with a bit less, to be honest, as our Simply Sebbe was much more well-balanced and let the beefy flavours shine properly. The bun was nicely toasted, but was bit dry along the edges. It did its job though, and held together well throughout the meal. The well-cooked french fries were crispy with a nice potato flavour, and we also appreciated their different seasonings.

Box for Life have done a lot of things right in a very short time. The burgers are decently priced and filling, even though we think some of them would benefit from having a few ingredients less. We definitely recommend a visit, and it’s an excellent lunch destination if you’re already out shopping in the area.

🍔 Review № 1381

Black Bear Burger is one of the veterans of the modern burger wave in England, and we have tried their burgers several times since our first review in 2017. Over the years, Black Bear Burger has received more and more attention and hype, both domestically and internationally, and today they are one of the most well-known burger restaurants in all of England. They have locations at nearly 10 places around London, and we visited their restaurant inside the Market Halls Victoria food hall and ordered their Double Miso Bacon Burger – the same burger that won them the National Burger of the Year 2025 award. The burger contained double patties, double cheese, smoked bacon and their miso butter mayo, and it cost 15.8 GBP (21 USD).

The burger looked exactly as we remembered it, with pre-formed patties and a pale bun covered in a generous layer of sesame seeds. The bun was soft and fluffy, but just like on our previous visits, we felt that the crust-like amount of sesame seeds took over both in terms of flavour and texture. The meat was of high quality as always and had a nice and potent dry-aged character that they are known for. The meat could have been juicier though, as it felt a bit too compact this time. The bacon was super tasty and crispy, just the way we like it, and the onion also contributed a nice texture. Their miso butter mayo was very flavourful with its buttery, salty, and umami-rich taste, but together with the bacon and the beef, the overall flavour profile was a bit too salty. We would have liked to see some kind of freshness to break up the saltiness for a more complete experience.

We are very happy that a veteran like Black Bear Burger continues to deliver high-quality burgers year after year, and they are still a safe bet when you are craving a really good burger in London.
