Youtube-videoPL&, eller ploch, har två restauranger i Örebro – en i den centrala saluhallen och en strax utanför stadskärnan på Örebro City Golf. Vi besökte den förstnämnda och möttes av en meny med nio hamburgare. Så vi beställde en dubbel Hamburgare med två 100-gramsköttpuckar, ost, silverlök, krispsallad och majonnäs för 149 kronor samt en dubbel Bacon Jam Burger med ost, baconsylt, silverlök, pickles och dijonmajonnäs för 159 kronor. I priset ingick även pommes frites.
Burgarna såg väldigt rejäla och fotogeniska ut när de anlände till vårt bord. Köttet på båda hamburgarna hade samma fina stekyta och såg väldigt inbjudande ut. Tyvärr märkte vi ganska snabbt att det lokala köttet var väldigt tamt i smaken, och vi hade gärna sett mer salt och peppar för att lyfta köttsmaken. Texturen var inte heller helt optimal och drog mer åt det kompakta och tuggiga hållet. Brödet var däremot mjukt och hade fått en rejäl rostning på insidan som höll ihop allt väl. Vi tyckte inte att ingredienserna i deras Hamburgare riktigt kom till sin rätt, och eftersom den var lite för enkel för sitt eget bästa så var var det var inget som fick den att lyfta. Bacon Jam Burger hade som tur var en mycket mer intressant smakbild, men även den hade vissa problem. Baconsylt brukar kunna kombinera djupa toner av sälta och sötma, men här var den mest söt och samarbetade inte alls väl med syrligheten från pickelsen. Resultatet var godkända burgare som hade svårt att sticka ut. Pommes fritesen var däremot fint krispiga och vi uppskattade den alltid så nostalgiska smaken av grillkrydda.
Hamburgarna från PL& är lite för försiktiga för sitt eget bästa, men vi uppskattar att de använder sig av kvalitativa lokala råvaror och det finns fortfarande gott om potential att hämta här.

PL& has two restaurants in Örebro – one in the centrally located Örebro Saluhall and one just outside the city centre at Örebro City Golf. We visited the former and were greeted by a menu with nine different burgers, and ordered a double Hamburgare with two 100-gram beef patties, cheese, white onions, lettuce and mayo for 149 SEK (14.5 USD) and a double Bacon Jam Burger with cheese, bacon jam, white onions, pickles and a dijon mayo for 159 SEK (15.5 USD). French fries were also included in the price.
Our burgers looked very big and photogenic when they arrived at our table. The patties on both burgers had the same nice crust and looked very inviting. Unfortunately, we quickly noticed that the local meat had a very mild taste, and we would have liked to see more salt and pepper to enhance the beefiness. The texture wasn’t optimal either, and was more compact and chewy. Thankfully, the bun was soft and was well toasted on the inside, holding everything together well. We didn’t think that the ingredients in their Hamburgare really came into their own, and since it was a bit too simple for its own good, there was nothing that made it stand out. Fortunately, the Bacon Jam Burger had a much more interesting flavour profile, but it also had some problems. Bacon jam is usually able to combine deep notes of saltiness and sweetness, but here it was mostly sweet and didn’t work well with the acidity of the pickle. And the end result was decent burgers that didn’t really stand out. The fries, on the other hand, were tasty and crispy, and we appreciated the ever-so-nostalgic flavour of the grill seasoning.
The burgers from PL& were too cautious for their own good, but we appreciate their use of quality local ingredients and there is still plenty of potential here.
