Fett Gott is a food truck located in Veddesta Handelsplats in Järfälla, Stockholm. They opened in the spring of 2022 and serve both Lebanese street food and three different smash burgers. We ordered a Stockholm with burger cheese, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, ketchup, mustard and burger sauce and a Beirut with burger cheese, fried onions, fried tomatoes, coleslaw, ketchup and mustard. They cost 129 SEK (12 USD) each, and upgrading to a menu with fries and a soft drink cost an additional 40 SEK (3.5 USD).

Our burgers were filled to the brim with toppings, and despite having two 90-gram beef patties they looked pretty big. The meat was tasty with a good seasoning and cooking surface and a nice texture. The cheese wasn’t very noticeable though, and we would have liked another slice of it. The brioche bun was warm and soft with a clear cooking surface on the inside, but the many ingredients in our Beirut soaked the heel a bit. Fortunately, we liked the distinct flavours and creaminess of the fried onions and coleslaw. Our Stockholm had a lot of fresh and crisp vegetables, but tasted mainly of the meat which made it a bit monotonous. Our fries were well cooked and covered with chilli mayonnaise, onions and parsley. We don’t know if this is how they always serve them, but we recommend ordering them that way, thanks to the sweet and hot chilli mayonnaise that added a lot of flavour.

We found the burgers from Fett Gott to be pretty good, but they were either a bit unbalanced or a bit too cautious. It looks like the rest of their menu offers even more flavour and personality, and we would have liked to see that in the burgers. In any case, we will gladly come back, both for the hamburgers and to explore the rest of their menu.

🍔 Review № 1397

🇺🇸 @localtide ★★★★☆

Local Tide is a hyped fish restaurant in central Seattle. And while most of the menu focuses on seafood, their burger has also become a bit of a talking point. They don’t take reservations, and when we arrived there were around 20 people queuing outside the small restaurant, with an hour-long wait. Luckily, there was space next door at Aslan Brewing, which served their burger and a handful of other dishes from Local Tide. We ordered their Smash Burger with beef, cheese, caramelised onions and mayo in a brioche bun for 10 USD, as well as a portion of Salt and Pepper Fries for 8 USD. We also tried their Salmon Sando for 16 USD.

After waiting around an hour for our food, our burger arrived neatly presented on a small plate. The bun looked a little flat but was lighter and fluffier than we’d expected. The beef was incredibly juicy and well salted, while the cheese was both creamy and flavourful. The caramelised onions were packed with umami and really enhanced the flavour of the beef. Both the bun and beef had a decent crust, although both could’ve been cooked a little more. Our main critique was that the burger would’ve been even better with a few more crispy components, and perhaps a bit bigger. The fries were like potato wedges and were incredibly well cooked. The generous portion was crispy and well seasoned, and their homemade ketchup was really tasty. The 16 USD salmon burger also impressed us with its fresh salmon fillet, great textures and fresh flavours.

It’s great to see a seafood restaurant serving burgers as good as the ones at Local Tide. The other seafood dishes are of course also worth trying, but make sure to arrive early and be prepared to wait a while for your food.
