In English

La Chef’s Burgers is located in Lunda Industriområde, close to the Stockholm suburb Spånga. Apart from burgers they also serve breakfast, which makes sense seeing as they open at 5 AM. Their menu consists of 12 burgers, and half of these are vegetarian varieties. The burgers cost between 119 and 169 SEK (11–16 USD), which includes french fries and a soft drink.

We ordered their Triple Cheeseburger with three kinds of cheese, a 150-gram beef patty, caramelised onions, pickles, lettuce and mayo for 149 SEK (14 USD). The burger itself was very tall and quite difficult to eat with our hands, which probably explained why we were given utensils and why the burger had been run through with a skewer. The chuck and brisket beef patty had a great texture and was very juicy, which we really liked. It was a bit too salty for our tastes, but apart from that we appreciated its quality and flavour. The bun had been toasted properly and was nice and soft, and did its best to keep everything together throughout our meal. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, and even though we’re no big fans of long pickle slices they added some much-needed acidity to the burger. The french fries came with a nostalgic pepper ketchup and were crispy with a great potato flavour.

La Chef’s Burgers serve well-made, pretty cheap and unpretentious burgers. There’s still a few things they ought to improve upon, but overall they’re not too far away from a higher score. If you’re near Spånga then they’re definitely worth a visit if you’re feeling hungry.

🍔 Review № 1381

Black Bear Burger is one of the veterans of the modern burger wave in England, and we have tried their burgers several times since our first review in 2017. Over the years, Black Bear Burger has received more and more attention and hype, both domestically and internationally, and today they are one of the most well-known burger restaurants in all of England. They have locations at nearly 10 places around London, and we visited their restaurant inside the Market Halls Victoria food hall and ordered their Double Miso Bacon Burger – the same burger that won them the National Burger of the Year 2025 award. The burger contained double patties, double cheese, smoked bacon and their miso butter mayo, and it cost 15.8 GBP (21 USD).

The burger looked exactly as we remembered it, with pre-formed patties and a pale bun covered in a generous layer of sesame seeds. The bun was soft and fluffy, but just like on our previous visits, we felt that the crust-like amount of sesame seeds took over both in terms of flavour and texture. The meat was of high quality as always and had a nice and potent dry-aged character that they are known for. The meat could have been juicier though, as it felt a bit too compact this time. The bacon was super tasty and crispy, just the way we like it, and the onion also contributed a nice texture. Their miso butter mayo was very flavourful with its buttery, salty, and umami-rich taste, but together with the bacon and the beef, the overall flavour profile was a bit too salty. We would have liked to see some kind of freshness to break up the saltiness for a more complete experience.

We are very happy that a veteran like Black Bear Burger continues to deliver high-quality burgers year after year, and they are still a safe bet when you are craving a really good burger in London.
