Lite snurrigt, men låt gå.

In English

Our original plan was to review Ohio Burger, which first opened in Tenhult and then moved to Huskvarna. We had heard that they had moved back to their old location in Tenhult, but when we got there we were met with Napoli Pizza & Burger in their old location. They said they had the same menu and the same burgers, so we took the opportunity to review them. We know it’s a bit weird, but so be it.

Their menu offered a bunch of different homemade burgers and we ordered The Original with cheese, white onions, burger sauce, ketchup and mustard and a Marcelo with cheese, bacon, tomato, onions, lettuce, BBQ sauce and burger sauce. The burgers cost 120 SEK (11 USD) each during lunch, which included a generous portion of french fries and a soft drink. The staff showed some impressive technique when smashing the burgers and we were excited to taste them. However, we were greeted by an incredibly large bun, which reminded us more of a bread roll than a burger bun. This made the whole burger look more like a sandwich than a burger, and the meat-to-bun ratio was off. The patties were also quite compact and could have used more salt and pepper. However, it still had a good crust and nicely melted cheese on top. The bacon was crispy and flavourful, but the BBQ sauce was just sweet and lacked complexity.

It was clear that Napoli Pizza & Burger want to make good smash burgers, but unfortunately the execution was lacking. We hope that they continue to evolve so that the people of Tenhult can eat good burgers in the future.

🍔 Review № 1381

Black Bear Burger is one of the veterans of the modern burger wave in England, and we have tried their burgers several times since our first review in 2017. Over the years, Black Bear Burger has received more and more attention and hype, both domestically and internationally, and today they are one of the most well-known burger restaurants in all of England. They have locations at nearly 10 places around London, and we visited their restaurant inside the Market Halls Victoria food hall and ordered their Double Miso Bacon Burger – the same burger that won them the National Burger of the Year 2025 award. The burger contained double patties, double cheese, smoked bacon and their miso butter mayo, and it cost 15.8 GBP (21 USD).

The burger looked exactly as we remembered it, with pre-formed patties and a pale bun covered in a generous layer of sesame seeds. The bun was soft and fluffy, but just like on our previous visits, we felt that the crust-like amount of sesame seeds took over both in terms of flavour and texture. The meat was of high quality as always and had a nice and potent dry-aged character that they are known for. The meat could have been juicier though, as it felt a bit too compact this time. The bacon was super tasty and crispy, just the way we like it, and the onion also contributed a nice texture. Their miso butter mayo was very flavourful with its buttery, salty, and umami-rich taste, but together with the bacon and the beef, the overall flavour profile was a bit too salty. We would have liked to see some kind of freshness to break up the saltiness for a more complete experience.

We are very happy that a veteran like Black Bear Burger continues to deliver high-quality burgers year after year, and they are still a safe bet when you are craving a really good burger in London.
