I det anspråkslösa bostadsområdet Al Manara i Dubai ligger High Joint – stadens kanske minsta burgarhak. Trots sina endast åtta sittplatser har de sedan starten 2018 blivit en av regionens mest populära och respekterade hamburgerrestauranger, och de har vunnit flera utmärkelser. Utöver en tajt meny med endast sex burgare prissatta från 35 AED (cirka 90 kronor) och uppåt, har de även friterade kycklingvingar samt en hemlig meny för de invigda.
Vi beställde deras cheeseburgare ”High Burger” med ost, sallad och majonnäs. Burgaren hade en inbjudande street food-estetik som vi är svaga för. Det gyllene potatisbrödet var en perfekt kompanjon till de smashstekta köttpuckarna som hade dekorerats med smält ost. Första tuggan satt mitt i prick och bevisade att detta var en riktigt vällagad burgare gjord på kvalitetsingredienser.
Köttet var gott med en rejäl kryddning och stekyta, medan brödet var av mycket hög kvalitet och hade den där speciella segheten och fluffigheten ett bra potatisbröd kan ha. Däremot saknades det något som bröt av alla de rejäla smakerna, något som till exempel en fin pickle hade kunnat bidra med.
Vi har inte svårt att förstå varför High Joint är så omtyckta, och det är en häftig upplevelse att äta en av de bästa burgarna i Dubai i ett anonymt bostadsområde som varken känns turistigt eller tröttsamt lyxigt. Detta är helt klart det häftigaste burgarhaket i staden, och bör besökas om du vill byta ut burgaren i gallerian mot ett riktigt burgaräventyr.

High Joint opened in 2018 and can be found in the unassuming Al Manara residential area in Dubai. With just 8 seats they are probably the smallest burger joint in the city, but this hasn’t stopped them from becoming one the the region’s most popular and respected hamburger restaurants, and they have won several awards. Their short but sweet menu consists of 6 different burgers costing from 35 AED (9 USD), and they also have chicken wings and a secret menu for initiated customers.
We ordered their ”High Burger” with cheese, lettuce and mayo, and had that street food feel that we really love. The golden potato bun was a perfect fit for the smashed patties that came covered with melted cheese, and we knew after the first bite that this was a great burger made from high quality ingredients.
The beef was packed with flavours thanks to the generous seasoning and crust, and the bun had that fluffy and squishy potato bun quality that we really enjoy. We did miss something with a bit of acidity that cut through all the flavours. A nice pickle would have rounded off everything nicely.
It’s no wonder that High Joint is so highly rated, and we really enjoyed eating one of Dubai’s best burgers in a laid back domestic area that didn’t feel the need to be touristy or garish. High Joint is the coolest burger joint in Dubai, and shouldn’t be missed if you want to leave the shopping malls and go on a real burger adventure.
