In English

Bad Luck Burger Club is a food truck that travels around Nashville, Tennessee. We managed to match their schedule when they were at a vintage shop and of course ordered a burger from them. They only have one burger on the menu, so the choice was easy. A Bad Luck Burger cost 9 USD and contained two thinly smashed beef patties, American cheese, grilled onions, dill pickles and their signature Lucky Sauce. We also ordered a Bad Luck Burger with jalapeños for another 50 cents, and since they didn’t sell fries we also grabbed a bag of chips for 2.50 USD.

Our burgers arrived quickly and looked simple, but were somewhat sloppily assembled. The beef was well smashed, but slightly too compact for our liking. We also thought it lacked enough salt and pepper to really make it shine. The bun, which was a classic American potato bun, was nicely toasted on the inside and behaved exactly as we had hoped. The burgers contained plenty of cheese which added a lot of creaminess, but it was differently melted on our two different burgers. The pickles were good, and added a lot of flavour, as the burger dressing was quite mild. We really appreciated the heat from the jalapeños, and the addition really made that particular burger pop. The chips were a smart solution since they didn’t have a fryer in the truck, but they didn’t really replace our craving for freshly cooked fries.

If you come across Bad Luck Burger Club while travelling around Nashville, you’ll definitely get a good burger, but it may not be worth spending too much time chasing after them.

🍔 Review № 1381

Black Bear Burger is one of the veterans of the modern burger wave in England, and we have tried their burgers several times since our first review in 2017. Over the years, Black Bear Burger has received more and more attention and hype, both domestically and internationally, and today they are one of the most well-known burger restaurants in all of England. They have locations at nearly 10 places around London, and we visited their restaurant inside the Market Halls Victoria food hall and ordered their Double Miso Bacon Burger – the same burger that won them the National Burger of the Year 2025 award. The burger contained double patties, double cheese, smoked bacon and their miso butter mayo, and it cost 15.8 GBP (21 USD).

The burger looked exactly as we remembered it, with pre-formed patties and a pale bun covered in a generous layer of sesame seeds. The bun was soft and fluffy, but just like on our previous visits, we felt that the crust-like amount of sesame seeds took over both in terms of flavour and texture. The meat was of high quality as always and had a nice and potent dry-aged character that they are known for. The meat could have been juicier though, as it felt a bit too compact this time. The bacon was super tasty and crispy, just the way we like it, and the onion also contributed a nice texture. Their miso butter mayo was very flavourful with its buttery, salty, and umami-rich taste, but together with the bacon and the beef, the overall flavour profile was a bit too salty. We would have liked to see some kind of freshness to break up the saltiness for a more complete experience.

We are very happy that a veteran like Black Bear Burger continues to deliver high-quality burgers year after year, and they are still a safe bet when you are craving a really good burger in London.
