In English

Uptown Night Market is held under a bridge in Harlem, New York, and is a celebration of all things food and culture. We were really hungry when we arrived, and were of course happy to find a food stall serving hamburgers. The Bronx Burger Co. is mainly a ghost kitchen serving food for delivery, but since they were on-site we felt that they deserved a review. Their menu consisted of a handful different burgers, and we ordered The Maple Bacon Cheeseburger with cheddar, maple glazed bacon and a Bx sauce for 9 USD. Despite a rather long queue we didn’t have to wait for long before we were handed a box with our food.

The burger looked decent enough, with nicely melted cheese and some crunchy looking bacon. But when we took our first bite we noticed several shortcomings. The beef was quite lean, and the low fat content made it a bit chewy. We also would have liked more sauce, as everything got a bit dry. The potato bun had been toasted nicely, and could easily have handled more sauces and beef juices if they’d just tried a little harder. Taste-wise the flavours worked well together, and we appreciated the bacon’s mix of savoury sweetness. So it was a bit of a shame that they hadn’t thought all decisions through.

The Bronx Burger Co. serve a decent burger, but we got the feeling that they’re aiming for customers who want an alright burger delivered to their front door than an amazing burger experience.

🇸🇪 Mother of Wagon ★★★★☆

Mother of Wagon opened by Arboga’s train station in the summer of 2026, and is actually run by the mother of the owner of The Wagon Burgers & Brews in Stockholm. Besides the clever name, they also offered four burgers, all of which could be made vegetarian. We ordered a Cheeseburger with two 100-gram mustard-smashed beef patties, cheddar, onions, pickles, ketchup and dressing in a brioche bun. It cost 130 SEK (14 USD), and we also added fries for 30 SEK (3 USD).

The burger looked really good when it arrived, even if it had been assembled somewhat hastily with a lot of sauce. The flavours worked well, but all that sauce made it a little difficult to eat as the patties kept sliding around. The beef from a local farm in Örebro was generously seasoned and had plenty of flavour. However, it had been slightly overworked and was a bit too compact, and we would’ve preferred a more airy texture. The cheese had melted nicely over the patties, and we also appreciated that the fluffy bun had been nicely toasted on the inside, helping it hold together throughout the meal. We liked the finely chopped onions, while the pickles were crunchy, if slightly sweet. Although the mustard smash added plenty of flavour to the beef, we would’ve appreciated the acidity of American yellow mustard instead of the fairly sweet burger sauce. The fries came in a very generous portion and were thick and well-cooked, but slightly too heavily salted.

Mother of Wagon has managed to build a really solid foundation in just a few months, and the friendly staff also contributed to the experience. We’re really happy that it’s now possible to get a good burger in central Arboga.
