🍔 Review № 1340

CBCo Brewing is a brewery that won the 2025 National Burger Awards for Australia’s Best Burger, voted on by the likes of Easey’s founder. However, we had initially missed the fact that they won with a shrimp burger, so we ordered one of those and one of their two regular beef burgers on the menu. The beef burger was a double Cheeseburger with two 120-gram beef patties, cheese, chopped onions, pickles and burger sauce, and we also ordered a Filet-O-Shrimp with breaded and fried shredded shrimp, lettuce, onion and ranch dressing. Both burgers cost 28 AUD (19 USD) each, and we also got a serving of fries for 13 AUD (9 USD).
Our cheeseburger looked quite nice with its soft potato bun, but despite the meat being tender, it had a very uneven crust. The patties tasted nice, but one person in the group got a slightly burnt burger, which further confirmed the uneven temperature of the grill. The bun was also unevenly toasted, and although the pickles were really good with a lot of dill flavour, all four slices were placed in the same spot. In other words, the unevenness was piling up. We did appreciate the creaminess of the sauce, but overall, we would have liked more salt to increase the overall flavours. The shrimp burger, on the other hand, was the complete opposite, with fresh, crispy and salty flavours that really stood out. We really understood why it won. The fries were also good, with a rich Cajun seasoning and a hot sauce that was a really good combination.
CBCo Brewing may have had a bad day when it came to the regular burgers, but this was at least the best shrimp burger we’ve ever had, so we’ll probably stick to that next time.
